Beautiful, secluded holiday cottages in the Limousin, France
La Chataigneraie is a small, private hamlet in the Périgord-Limousin natural park. The Limousin is also known as the land of a thousand lakes.
The hamlet consists of 3 old traditional French buildings which have been furnished to a high standard and are in keeping with the area’s natural beauty and history.
La Chataigneraie sleeps 20 in total and small children’s cots are also available upon request.
The Farmhouse sleeps 9 (4 double beds and 1 single).
The Gite sleeps 3 (1 double bed, 1 sofa bed).
The Cottage sleeps 8 (4 double beds).
La Chataigneraie is available for holiday rentals for a minimum stay of 2 nights. The properties can be rented individually or together, depending on the size of your group and holiday requirements. The hamlet also accommodates wedding guests, special occasions, corporate events and team-building events.
La Chataigneraie is 25km from Limoges International airport flying from London Stansted, Gatwick, Leeds / Bradford, Nottingham, Manchester, Southampton and Bristol.
La Chataigneraie is set in its own private grounds of 5 hectares of open countryside, woodland with a river. Guests staying at the property are welcome to use the hiking paths where you might catch a glimpse of deer, wild boar or birds of prey.
Fishing is available on site and permits are also available for local lakes and rivers. There are also many beautiful swimming lakes nearby.
Facilities at the hamlet include 24 hour staff, a large heated swimming pool, satellite TV, table tennis and a games room which has a pool table, darts and an air hockey table. Bicycles are also available to hire at the property. All properties have their own BBQ, terrace and sun-loungers, parasols and outside tables and chairs.
The village of Gorre is a 5 minute walk and it has a bakery, restaurant and fishing lake. Local farmers markets are active throughout the summer with many fetes, antique brocantes and music festivals in June. All other villages nearby are 5 minute drive or so away and have supermarkets, banks, cash machines, a butchers, petrol station, doctors, pharmacy and other amenities.

Your host can arrange activities of your choice from fishing, canoe – kayaking, water sports, endurance / downhill mountain biking, karting, clay pigeon shooting and horse riding as well as cultural and historical excursions and many other activities.
